Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi - Arusha
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel at 7.30 am and thereafter depart for Arusha via Namanga border town for immigration formalities. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. arranging your climbing gears with safari briefing from one of our staff in Arusha overnight at Arusha hotel.
Day 2: Arusha - Machame
Pick up from your Hotel in Arusha at 8.00 am for an early start to Kilimanjaro National Park,once we reach the Machame park gate we will proceed directly to Machame hut campsite in an average hiking time of 6 hours for meals and overnight in tents. The attitude here is 3,100m.
Day 3:Machame - Shira
After breakfast, hike to Shira hut. The trek takes 4 hours approximately via the rain forest past the valley and a steep rocky ridge ending westward at a river gorge. You will have a rest, dinner and overnight at Shira hut campsite, 3,658m above sea level.
Day 4: Shira - Barranco
From Shira, hike to Barranco hut, in an average hiking of 6 hours. We by-pass the lava tower and past the second juntion which brings us to the arrow glacier, attitude 4,876m. We descend to Barranco hut campsite for our third overnight on Kilimanjaro, 3,860. above sea level.
Day 5: Barranco - Barafu
After breakfast, we leave Baranco and continue to the Karanga valley and the juntion, which connects with the Mweka trail. We hike to Barafu hut where we set up camp. We will have walked for about 8 hours.Dinner and overnight at the hut campsite, altitude 4,600m with the possibility of sighting both Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks.
Day 6: Barafu � Stella Point and Uhuru Peak-Mweka.
We rise early and head for Stella Point altitude 5,745m on our way to the Summit Uhuru Peak that is 5,896m above sea level. This part of the hikes takes about 6 hours. From the Summit we descend to the Mweka hut campsite, 3,100m above sea level. This part of the descent takes about 5 hours.Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Mweka- Arusha-Nairobi
After breakfast, we descend to Mweka Park Gate in an average hiking time of 4 hours and then drive back to Arusha where you connect your shuttle transfer back to Nairobi arriving in the evening where your safari ends.

PARTNERSHIP
African Home Adventure Kenya and Tanzania Safaris entered into partnership with Kenya Youth Hostels Association and other hostels around the world as a travel partner setting up travel information center for its members and attracts benefits to hoteliers. HI members enjoy a discounted tour price of up to 10% on any tour booked through us on presentation of the HI card.
5% of the company proceeds goes to support Kenya Voluntary and Community Development Project, African Home Adventure Kenya and Tanzania Safaris and Kenya Youth hostels Association is working in partnership to supporting kvcdp one of the community based organizations registered in western Kenya (Certificate No. BON/S.H./4076). This is enabling foreign and local volunteers work closely to develop the community which is in direct need for help. Great effort is taken to keep costs of travel as low as possible to continue making hosteling attractive and accessible to young and old people from all walks of life and world over. KYHA has diversified the range of accommodation and can now give families, groups and independent travelers and volunteers with en suit facilities in some hostels in Kenya, in the rural hostels, we provide a simple warm and welcoming accommodation even for the home stays facilitating team, volunteers and home hosts have good local knowledge and often work with local people to let the volunteers and hoteliers know where to work freely.
Work camp and study programs are organized in a way that both volunteers and local people get to learn from each others culture, exchange of information in guiding a united world with young people, a world without barriers, more friendly, hospitable and tolerant to others. We aim to fight against discrimination, racism and xenophobia.
So African Home Adventure Kenya and Tanzania, Kenya Youth Hostels Association and Kenya Voluntary and Community Development Project welcome both the young and the old to score these values and promote them from a global perspective as we think local and acting globally.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TOUR OPERATIONS
CANCELLATION
Should you cancel up to 7 days prior to commencement, the payment will be refunded less a normal charge of 50% only. They take effect from the day we receive payment.
ACCOMMODATION
Prices are based on double occupancy. On single booking there is supplement for nights spent in Nairobi, the coast lodges and on safari. Should an accommodation fail to provide single occupancy despite payment of supplement, the applicable amount is refunded. Accommodation is listed in preferred sequences. They range from modern hotels in Nairobi picturesque verandas, deluxe resort complexes, hotels, chalets and permanent camps on safari circulars to imaginatively designed beach hotel. Most have private bathrooms and swimming pools and all have restaurant and bar facilities you MUST chose your accommodation plan in respect to the above.
ALTERATION TO TOURS
The sequences and accommodation of all itineraries is normally adhered to BUT THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE ALTERATIONS ENFORCED BY WEATHER, ROADWORKS, HIGH SEASONS CONGESTION OF ANY CAUSE, and delays caused by breakdowns of the company. As specified accommodation cannot be guaranteed even if extra money has been paid.
TRANSPORTATION
Transfers, excursion and tours are by saloon cars and safari vehicles or a 4x4 Land cruiser with English speaking driver/guide.
LIABILITY
[a] The company and its agent’s act only as agents of the client in all matters relating to accommodation, sightseeing excursion tours and all forms of transport. The company cannot accept any responsibility for default whether negligence or otherwise on the party of any of the services or additional expenses occasioned by their delay, alterations of travel services or excursion of tours applied for and booked.
[b] The company’s liability to passengers carried in vehicles for transfer, excursion and tours are governed by the laws of the country that the tour takes place and all claims are subject only to the courts of Law.
[c] The company reserves the right to employ a sub-contractor and in the event of such exercise the terms of clause (a) relating to the company’s liability shall apply.
[c] Whilst every care is taken the company cannot be responsible for loss or damage to personal property and it is advisable to arrange relevant insurance.
VALUABLES
Please keep these with you all the times. Safety deposit facilities are available at most accommodation.
PRICES
These include all the expenses connected with the site seeing as indicated in the itineraries, entrance fees to attractions visited, accommodation service charges, government taxes. Prices exclude the cost of passport, visa, health documents, gratitude’s, laundry, drinks and other personal items.
Boat trip in L. Baringo and Masaai Village in Masaai Mara are not included in the tour price. Kenya or Tanzania departure taxes not included. All prices are subject to change without advance notice based on increased rates or fluctuations in foreign currencies and any other prices. Once the tour has started no refund shall be made for any reason whatsoever.
BAGGAGE
While on safari one piece of baggage is permitted per person plus the carry on. All excess baggage should be checked upon arrival at your Nairobi Hotel until compilation of the safari. A small overnight or carry – on- bag is the only requirement for any of the three hotels. Formal dresses i.e. jacket and tie for a gentlemen and a dress for the lady is required for dinner at the Mt. Kenya Club, otherwise dress casually for comfort on safari.
The company reserves the right to off-load any passenger at time if she /he does not or is not prepared to adhere to any schedule itineraries or gets difficult in any other reasons.
SAFARI ORIENTATION
Safari tours are ideal for the good-natured realist imposed with joy being with others and is able to adhere to the very modest rigours imposed by scheduled itinerary. Be prepared to sometimes encounter custom habits, living standard, which may be different from your own open tolerant mind. Africans in the town and up- country respond warmly to an attitude of friendship and respect. Show of common courtesy at all times helps to avoid misunderstanding.
